Andy Clarke

Founder of Clarke Geospatial Consulting.

Over the last 23 years, I have served in the British Army, worked in the defence sector, for various government contracts, including transport for London, Defence Estates, the Crown Estate, the Office for National Statistics and most recently, an open source intelligence company, as the head of GIS.

I've also spent 5 years working in Germany for the US Army, in Grafenwoehr, within the Sustainable Range Program, providing GIS support for multinational armies across Europe, including a number of military training exercises and operations involving Russia and Ukraine.

I've built an extensive knowledge of spatial analysis, database adminstration, programming and web mapping applications. The GIS world is ever evolving and can be a difficult field to navigate through if you are just starting out, or have limited resources within your organisation.

One of the main things I have realised throughout my career is that most businesses / organisations that have a requirement for GIS, have a solid reason for incorporating geospatial data into their day to day business, but don't always know where to start with set up and organising their data to integrate into the company platform.

We recognise that you don't always require a permanent GIS department within your business, but somebody who can provide the right advice to get you started with the tools that you need to succeed.

At Clarke Geospatial, we look to take the stress away from the initial GIS set up within your business, offering advice on how to get the most out of your system and databases. We offer bespoke solutions for database set up, data integration, web mapping, map and symbology template creation and training for all levels. We also offer a service to create your entire GIS set up, from start to finish.
